Fly Down the Field: Inaugural War Eagle Run Fest launches in 2022

AUBURN, AL.– On your mark, get set, go! Tiger fans can start training for a new set of races launching early next year. FRESHJUNKIE Racing (FJR) is thrilled to present the Inaugural War Eagle Run Fest on Feb. 20, 2022 in partnership with Auburn University (AU) and the cities of Auburn and Opelika.

The 13.1 mile half-marathon course takes runners through AU’s campus before they #FlyDowntheField to the finish line in Jordan-Hare Stadium on the 50-yard line. The War Eagle Run Fest is the second FJR event to end in the stadium of a Southeastern Conference (SEC) school.

“It’s not every day you get such an epic ending to a race, and we’re excited to give Auburn fans that opportunity,” said FJR Marketing Director Mike Wattigny. “Participants will get to experience running on the same field where legends like Cam Newton and Bo Jackson once played. This event is a must for die-hard Auburn fans and running enthusiasts alike.”

Alternatively, athletes and fans have the option to run a 5k (3.1 miles), and there will also be a 1 mile run for the Little Tigers.

After the race, participants can grab a commemorative medal and join us outside the stadium for the War Eagle Run Fest. This post-race tailgate is filled with food and music, and open to all.
